NL Division Winners Predictions
Based on the current odds by Caesars Sportsbook
It’s the most wonderful time of the year. Baseball is back and Vegas has already given us the favorites to win each National League Division. This season will be especially interesting for the NL with the new implementation of the designated hitter position. Gone are the days of watching your favorite pitchers go down swinging, and it will be sure to add more excitement this year.
NL West

Favored to win: Los Angeles Dodgers
With 2021 being the first year since 2013 that the Dodgers lost the NL West, this one feels like a pretty obvious choice. They have been able to maintain a strong and cohesive team, which has allowed them to dominate the division for almost a decade. With Clayton Kershaw, Trevor Bauer, and Julio Urias in the strong starting rotation, plus the base-stealing speed and agility of young Trea Turner, the Dodgers already have the division in the bag before opening day.
NL East

Favored to win: New York Mets
The New York Mets have not won the division since 2015. While they have two of the top starting pitchers in the league, Jacob deGrom and Max Scherzer, they will likely still feel the loss of Noah Syndergaard to the Angels. They did make a big move this month, picking up right-handed pitcher, Chris Bassitt, who will be a great addition to an already strong starting rotation. Another new addition to the team is center fielder, Starling Marte. After bouncing between four different teams during the last two seasons, Marte signed a four-year deal with the Mets.
NL Central

Favored to win: Milwaukee Brewers
Often overlooked, despite winning the division last season, the Milwaukee Brewers have played consistently the last several years. The Brewers’ strength last season was their starting rotation, which should continue to thrive this year thanks to Corbin Burnes, Freddy Peralta, Adrian Houser, Brandon Woodruff. On the flipside, the Brewers will need stronger hitting this season to pull out another division win. Adding 2013 NL MVP Andrew McCutchen to the lineup should help, and if Christian Yelich can play to his full 30+ HR potential, Milwaukee should have no trouble clinching the NL Central.
Honorable Mention:

NL East: Atlanta Braves
Fresh off their first World Series win since 1995, the Braves will still be riding high, and hopefully can carry that momentum into 2022. But, loss of fan favorite, Freddie Freeman, will definitely have an impact on the reigning champs, especially since he led the league last season with 120 runs, and has long been a consistent heavy hitter for the Braves.
