FanDuel’s sportsbook at the MotorCity Casino Hotel recently underwent renovations expanding the successful operation and investing further in Detroit’s sports betting and online gaming market. The new space is a “world-class VIP room [created] to better serve its customers,” according to a press release.
FanDuel partnered with the MotorCity Casino Hotel back in March of 2020 to create a premier sportsbook in the Casino Hotel. The two-story sportsbook is the largest in Detroit, and the recent renovations continue to push what’s possible for sports fans in the city.
Sports fans and their guests now have a unique space to watch their favorite teams, which includes 15 additional HD TVs, premium leather seating, a new bar, and room for up to 25 patrons.
These steps made by the company are attempts to differentiate itself from the two other casinos in Detroit, MGM Grand, and Hollywood Casino at Greektown. The MGM Grand Detroit features its BetMGM branded sports lounge, while Hollywood Casino at Greektown has a Barstool Sportsbook.
The new additions at the FanDuel location account for over 1,100 square feet of viewing space. FanDuel MotorCity already boasts the largest sportsbook of the three casinos in Detroit, with two floors, eight betting windows, 70 HDTVs, a sports ticker, and 54 self-service IGT PlaySports betting kiosks throughout the casino. The company hopes the addition of the VIP room will bring even more guests to the space.
New Partnerships with Detroit’s Sports Teams
The VIP room renovation follows FanDuel’s announcement in April, signifying its new partnership with the Detroit Tigers and Red Wings, further strengthening FanDuel’s position in Detroit. The new collaboration makes FanDuel the official sportsbook for the Detroit Tigers and Detroit Red Wings. The Little Caesars Arena and Comerica Park will receive new static and digital signage reflecting the new partnership. FanDuel will also be featured on the team’s Radio Networks, which broadcast across Michigan.
The CMO of FanDuel Group, Mike Raffensperger, was excited about the new partnership, stating, “After a very successful launch in Michigan, we are excited to continue our momentum by partnering in this way with two of the most iconic sports organization in the country.” To celebrate the collaboration, the company also offered a $25 registration bonus for Red Wings and Tigers fans.
If you’ve visited Comerica Park or Little Caesars Arena recently, you’ve probably already noticed MotorCity’s presence at the stadiums. Comerica Park, home of the Detroit Tigers, is currently home to the MotorCity Casino Tiger Club, where guests can enjoy a VIP room with food and beverage options. Little Caesars Arena also features a MotorCity venue, dubbed the Motor City Club.
