Play’n GO Acquires West Virginia Online Casino License

Play’n GO finished off 2022 by acquiring a license from state officials to bring its world-class gaming content to West Virginia’s online casino market.

This will be the third US license acquired for the Swedish-based iGaming supplier, following deals in Michigan and New Jersey. Founded in 2005, the company is one of the world’s leading suppliers of online slot machines. Play’n GO holds relations with casino operators in 25 various regions. The company also recently launched its content in Ontario, Canada, with titles including Book of Dead, Reactoonz, Sweet Alchemy, and USA Flip are already live for fans.

Mangus Olsson, Chief Commercial Officer of Play’n GO said, “West Virginia’s regulated iGaming marketplace is thriving and it’s brilliant to be able to finish the year strongly by acquiring a license to serve our games to players in the state.” Olsson also added, “Play’N GO delivers new entertainment each and every week to players in regulated markets right across the world, and I’m sure that players in West Virginia will enjoy the full Play’n Go portfolio that is unmatched in the industry.”

Play’n GO is Expanding in the United States

The leading European company has long anticipated bringing its content to the US, and with the acquisition of its third US license, they are well on its way to completing its goal.

Although the company has landed its third US contract, do not expect Play’n GO to stop here. Their growth in West Virginia highlights the company’s dedication to its expansion in North America. Numerous vital US-based hires have backed up the company’s growth.

“Our aim is to see Play’n Go games become as beloved in the US as they are in every other regulated market around the world,” said Johan Törnqvist, Play’n GO CEO.

In 2022 Play’n GO released over 50 new video slots, making it the company’s most successful year.

Play’n GO Operating in New Jersey and Michigan

Play’n GO was given its first US Provisional Internet Gaming Supplier License in Michigan in July of 2022. Johan Törnqvist advertised this as a “landmark moment” for the company.

Following Michigan, Play’n GO went live in New Jersey on September 7, partnering with PokerStars. On October 31, Play’n GO announced a partnership with BetMGM in New Jersey.

Play’n GO is confident in its future achievements in the United States. Olsson observed, Players are different in terms of their game preferences in every jurisdiction, of course, but the common thread that runs through all players is that the quality content rises to the top – players want to be entertained first and foremost. Our games are proving to be a main vehicle of retention for many operators due to their inherent entertainment value.”

The Growth of Gaming in the Mountain State

In the latest report from the West Virginia Lottery, both casino and sports betting numbers were growing from month to month.

In November of 2022, West Virginia wagered just over $311 million, and winners gained around $300 million. In total, $10.3 million was earned in West Virginia gambling revenue for the month.

Recently, EveryMatrix, an online gambling software company, partnered with Internet Vikings, a cloud hosting partner to bring its presence to West Virginia.

Shortly after the partnership between EveryMatrix and Internet Vikings, Hacksaw Gaming reported its plans to bring its content to the United States with its first destination being West Virginia. Resembling Play’n GO, Hacksaw offers West Virginians over 120 online games.

Needless to say, online gambling is only expanding in West Virginia.
